Frozen Out of Your GTV-6?

[If your GTV-6/Milano locks freeze up in winter, try this. Ed.]

Alfa has had me try many repairs, from removing, cleaning and packing the latch with wheel bearing grease, to covering them with plastic to prevent water from entering past the window seal. The fix that lasted was to remove the latch and clean it thoroughly. Next, soak or coat it well with 80-90W gear lube. Then, starting in October and every other month until the weather picks up, squirt 80-90W lube into the latch at the opening on rear side of the door. As a back up carry “Lock Thaw” spray with you, which works instantly. Many of my customers still carried it with them but rarely needed it.
