Cheap and Dirty Touch-up Paint

by Jack Hagerty

There’s a CHAD (CHeap And Dirty) version of touch up paint available as close as your nearest mall or large department store.

Go to the cosmetics section of any large department store and you’ll find a half dozen counters of competing makeup companies with an absolutely mind boggling array of nail polishes. The hardest part is getting a part of your car into the store to match the color, but if you have a good color photo that you’ve checked against the real thing for accuracy, bring that in and you’ll be surprized how close you can come.

I did this for my car years ago and found that Revlon Misty Burgandy Creme is a dead ringer for Alfa color 525 “Prugna”. It even comes with it’s own applicator brush, is fast drying and strengthens your doors against cracking and splitting :-)

Seriously, the laquer in the nail polish will stand up to the weather for a year or more before fading and flaking off.
